About Dr. Diab
Dr. Mohanad Diab is a Consultant Medical Oncologist with over 18 years of clinical experience spanning Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and the United Arab Emirates.
After earning his MD from the prestigious Karolinska University in Sweden in 2004, Dr. Diab completed specialized training in Bone Marrow Transplantation at Radiumhemmet, the cancer centre of Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. He then served as a Consultant Medical Oncologist in the West Götland Region of Sweden, overseeing oncology care across two major hospitals with a combined capacity of over 825 beds.
In 2012, Dr. Diab brought his European expertise to the UAE, where he established the Oncology Department at NMC Healthcare from the ground up. Under his leadership, the department grew to become one of Abu Dhabi's most respected cancer care centers. He introduced chemotherapy protocols aligned with the highest European standards and founded a pioneering multidisciplinary tumor board — a weekly forum where oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, and radiologists collaborate to personalize each patient's treatment plan.
After serving as Chair of Oncology for the entire NMC Group, Dr. Diab continued his work at Burjeel Hospital before taking his current role as Director of Oncology Services at Mediclinic Abu Dhabi, where he provides comprehensive, compassionate cancer care. With Karolinska training, 3,000+ patients treated, and five languages spoken, Dr. Diab offers consultations and second opinions for patients in Abu Dhabi and across the UAE.
